How to keep your audiences leaning on your every word while you make them TALL (Think, Act, Laugh, and Learn)

Your introduction flavors your entire speech. You can use it to get the audience fired up and excited about what they are going to hear, or you can use it to boost yourself up in their eyes. You can use it to whet their appetite with the valuable tools they are sure to get from your presentation, or, again, you can use it to boost yourself up in their eyes. Here is one thing I know for sure; once Craig Valentine changed his introduction from me-focused to you-focused, he gave himself an extreme advantage before he even said one word. You will too.

HARO stands for Help A Reporter Out and was founded by Peter Shankman. PR Week Magazine has described Peter as “redefining the art of networking,” and Investor’s Business Daily has called him “crazy, but effective.” Peter is a spectacular example of what happens when you harness the power of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and make it work to your advantage.

An entrepreneur, author, speaker, and ingenious worldwide connector, Peter is recognized nationally and globally for radically new ways of thinking about social media, PR, marketing, advertising, creativity, and just about everything else, as well.

Peter is the author of Can We Do That?! Outrageous PR Stunts That Work and Why Your Company Needs Them (Wiley and Sons 2006) and a frequent keynote speaker and workshop presenter at conferences, trade shows, and private companies, including The U.S. Department of Defense, The Public Relations Society of America, Saatchi and Saatchi, , CTIA, CTAM, CES, PMA, Mobile Marketing Asia, Advertising Week, and the Direct Marketing Association, among many others.

To punctuate his full-throttle schedule, Peter is a marketing pundit for several national and international news channels, including Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC. He is frequently quoted in major media and trade publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, New York Daily News, Associated Press, Reuters, CNN, and USA Today.

HARO

In 2008, Peter launched Help A Reporter (www.helpareporter.com) which connects journalists with the sources they require using a social media platform. HARO (Help A Reporter Out) is already over 36,000 members and growing, and has a growing stable of national journalists using the service on a daily basis.

This list was originally conceived on Facebook, but since Facebook caps group emails at 1,200 people, HARO is the next incarnation.

If you join the mailing list on Help A Reporter Out, each day, you’ll receive up to three emails, each with anywhere from 15-30 queries per email. They’ll all be labeled with [shankman.com] in the subject line, for easy filtering. If you see a query you can answer, go for it! HelpAReporter.com really is that simple.

Peter built this list because a lot of his friends were reporters, and they called him all the time for sources. Rather than go through his contact lists each time, he figured he could push the requests out to people who actually have something to say.

These requests only come from reporters directly to him. He never take queries from that other service, he never SPAM, and he’s not going to do anything with your email other than send you these reporter requests when they arrive in my in-box.

It is a great way to share your knowledge and expertise while getting some potential PR out of it too. The rules are reallysimple. You send targeted, on-point responses to reporters that need to make deadline for stories or publiations they are working and writing for. Just ask yourself before you send a response: Is this response really on target? Is this response really going to help the journalist, or is this just a BS way for me to get my client in front of the reporter? If you have to think for more than three seconds, chances are, you shouldn’t send the response.

In the end, we could probably all stand to do this a bit more, huh?

That’s it. No other rules. Just questions and answers. So what are you waiting for, go help a reporter out!

What if you could have a software that helped you to track all your Google Adwords campaigns, website traffic and article marketing efforts so you could tell which keywords brought targeted prospects to your website?

What if you could have a software that helped you to track all your Google Adwords campaigns, website traffic and article marketing efforts so you could tell which keywords brought targeted prospects to your website? Is Affiliate Prophet a Rehashed Software or Great Conversion Tool?.

Wouldn’t that be really neat? Tracking is very important to your online success. Instead of marketing blindly, you need to know where traffic is coming from especially with Google Adwords campaign.

You will lose a lot of money if you don’t manage your campaigns wisely through tracking.

Extreme Clickbank Tactic Makes $109,151 In 30 Days!

Keeping a closer eye on your keyword conversion rate will help you to realize which keywords are working and which ones are not. Marketing has a lot to do with testing. However, the only way you can test the market is to have a resource that will help you to measure your efforts so that you focus on your marketing methods especially the ones that are bringing more traffic to your website.

This will allow you to tweak your web page copy by adding the keywords that are converting. You would also be able to extract or remove the keywords that are not converting from your Google Adwords campaign. Is Affiliate Prophet a Rehashed Software or Great Conversion Tool?.

This is called performance marketing. If a keyword is not performing, then it affects your bottom line. You can use tracking software to test and pull your keywords in a narrower time increment. Armed with this key information will give you the edge over your competitors and make your ad campaigns more effective. You will be able to improve your ads or select the best keywords for your ad campaign.

Google Adwords does offer a free keyword tool that gives a lot of information that you can use to monitor your keywords and see what other competitors are paying for each keyword. However, this is not the only aspect of performance marketing. You want to know which keywords are profitable for your target market. It is better to know the exact keyword that brings a prospect to your web page.

There are many things to factor in with determining adword conversion so having software that can track your efforts is vital for generating sales and not just visitors to your website. When you are promoting a product, you need to have organized information and details that will give you enough leverage to make advertising decisions that will make you money.

Internet marketers who engage in tracking their marketing efforts do fair better than those who don’t. Affiliate Prophet software is a new tracking software that gives you the tools that you need to be profitable online.

It is a handy tool that increases conversion and sales and allows you to organize your marketing efforts. You can read more about the concept of Affiliate Prophet and how you can use it in your online business on my Affiliate Prophet blog here at How to track your conversions with Affiliate Prophet.

Motivation is at the center of any great organization. When you can lead your tribe by making them feel wanted and appreciated, the results are usually going to be positive. Recent news reports of large corporations taking huge, glamorous, and expensive incentive travel trips after being bailed out by the government has really put a clamp on these kinds of reward trips, across the board. Even if the company is above board about it, they do not want to give the “wrong impression.” Better judgment on the part of the trip planners of the companies getting bailed out should have prevailed, and I am in no way condoning their behavior in this article, but their poor decisions are now affecting an entire industry.

Let’s take a moment and see who this is really hurting in those companies that haven’t gotten themselves in a financial fix. If you were the salesman that worked his butt off all year long to make your quota of sales for the company, thereby driving profit for that same company, wouldn’t you be a little peeved if all of a sudden the “Sales Incentive” trip that used to be the carrot was suddenly taken away, simply because of perceived public opinion? How will this decision to cancel the trips across the board affect your sales performance next year? It can’t be doing a lot of good for company moral.

I recently had lunch with Dave, a VP at USMotivation, one of the countries premier travel incentive organizations. He was talking about how the business had just gone flat, and how companies that had budgeted and scheduled trips were now canceling them because of the bad press that other companies were generating. Do you see how these decisions to cancel the trips has an incredible domino affect on a lot of other industries.

I think American corporations have an incredible opportunity to take the Sales Incentive trip, which has now become tarnished because of the decisions and actions of a few bad apples, and turn it around to actually help their fellow Americans. For those companies that have already budgeted the funds for the trips to some exotic place outside of the country, why not change the destination to someplace inside the United States of America, thereby stimulating a local economy that otherwise would be hurting today. I think it would be a win-win situation. You reward the employees and sales people that are the heart and soul of your organization, you maintain moral and loyalty to the company, you help others who may be in danger of losing their jobs because of cut-backs and lay-offs , and you keep the dollars in the USA instead of off-loading them to another country, and you get GOOD PRESS because of why you’re doing it.

Giving out promotional items can be very expensive, so why not get the recipients to pay? Better still, why not get them wanting to come back for more and really increase your sales?

Rather than distributing inexpensive promotional items that your recipients don’t really want and aren’t likely to keep, why not add some perceived value to the item?

Better still, why not use the promotional item to encourage them back in the future to buy more – at the same time they are likely to buy from you again?

Sounds too good to be true? Have you ever noticed fast food chains entice children back into their restaurants by offering a different toy each week? Come back next week and you get another new toy. Maybe not a huge branding, but you know by looking at them where they are from.

What can we learn from this clever marketing strategy? Well, if you are a shop, put a little thought into some promotional items. Select items with a theme that can be developed over weeks. Maybe a different coloured item each week, a different variety or a series of characters.

Get posters printed and advertise the arrival of this new promotional item. It doesn’t matter too much what it is. Then sell it to the customers (or their children) for a small amount. Be sneaky even – ‘Get this wonderful toy for just ?1 when you spend ?10 in store today.’ Give them something the kids might want, but make sure they have to be buying from you before they get it for free – or even pay for it!

Show on the poster the full range of toys and when the next ones are available. Learn from the fast food chains. Put a cheap leaflet in with each toy that also shows what’s coming up in future weeks. Do whatever you can to make them certain when the next item is in stock and make customers want to come back for another.

First, the customer has to come back and spend again in store. You could be encouraging them back sooner than they otherwise would have been. Second, the item is branded with your logo, so they remember your campaign into the future. And third, there’s a chance that they will show them to their friends, who, if you have chosen well, might just agree that it’s worth popping in to your shop on their way past. Or the kids’ friends might see it and pester their parents to pay you a visit. Finally, the customers are paying for the promotional items. Maybe not enough to cover the costs, but if they can cover the majority of the costs, that’s an excellent campaign.

The good old promotional pen can be used as a powerful advertising tool. There are many varieties about and you will see and use them all of the time. From giveaways, to left on shop counters and well positioned in hotel rooms, they are hammering their message down our throats all of the time.

Whilst relatively cheap and easy to source, with just a little imagination soon everyone will know about your business. And that’s just for starters! Here’s our 3 golden rules for promotional pens.

Golden rule 1 – Don’t be put off by cold callers trying to sell you expensive pens!

At first glance promotional pens that are printed with your company logo, name or contact details can seem quite expensive when you are approached by a sales person. But remember that they are leaving room to offer you a “discount” and are also probably offering you a high end product, knowing that if you are unsure they can then try to sell you a lower priced alternative. With just a quick bit of shopping around you can produce something that’s much cheaper.

Golden rule 2 – There’s a good range of inexpensive options.

Plenty of charities, surveys and the likes are happy to give out free pens. These are usually the cheapest pens on the market and could be a good place to start from. Costing just a few pennies each, which includes having your details printed on the pen, with only a little imagination they can be great for getting your details over to the buying public.

Obviously, if you are advertising an expensive end product, then the basic stick ball pen might not be quite the right image for you, but you can quickly find better looking pens, including the familiar promotional Parker Pen, without having to spend a small fortune.

But why use promotional pens?

Giving out business cards and flyers might seem a good idea, but how many just get thrown out with the rubbish straight away or squashed into a pocket? With a pen it is something useful – it’s something that the recipient is more likely to want to keep and then every time they see or use the pen they will be reminded of your business. A marketing tool is only good for as long as it is on the person’s mind – by giving them something they want to keep, it’s on their mind a lot longer.

Now you just have to work out how you are going to distribute the pens!
